The entire Panchayat village feels empowered and happy.

- Lalita Kujur, Resident, Serangdag village

In the remote village of Serangdag, which lies at the heart of the Palamau Tiger Reserve, we organized a vision clinic for the people of Jharkhand, India. Due to lack of awareness and access, uncorrected poor vision has often been ignored and is rampantly present among these villagers.

In response to these challenges, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation brought much-needed vision care services to the residents of Serangdag, providing villagers with 'The Right To See' – some for the very first time in their lives.

The Personal Impact of Good Vision

One of our beneficiaries, a 75-year-old man named Arjun Lohra, had been struggling with severe cataracts for years. His failing vision made daily tasks difficult and isolated him from community life. After receiving necessary care at the vision screening, Arjun’s world transformed. "I can see my grandchildren’s faces clearly for the first time in years," he said.

His story is just one of many that highlight the life-changing impact of our work and reaffirms our belief that good vision is a basic human right, and that everyone deserves 'The Right To See'.

These clinics go beyond just providing glasses. It reinforces our commitment to ensure that every community, no matter how remote, receives the vision care they need.
