Prevalence and Burden of Self-Reported Blindness, Low Vision, and Visual Impairment in the French Community

A national survey was conducted in France to determine the prevalence of self-reported, visually impaired persons (0.1% prevalence of blindness and 1.94% prevalence of low vision. Association with disabilities and socioeconomic consequences (daily assistance, social allowances, monthly household income) was determined.
