Summary of National Vision Care Report
This research aims to raise public awareness for visual health and promote the design and implementation of relevant public policies in China.
The prevalence of various visual health problems in China is far above the global average and East Asian countries; the deterioration is accelerating as visual health problems are permeating among the younger population more than before.
The leading cause of teenage-related refracted error is myopia and age-related eye diseases/disorders.
A systematic framework for China’s vision care public policy – that should replace current fragmented policies – is needed to address this visual health crisis.
