The Impact of Visual Impairment on Functional Vision of Children in Rural South India: The Kariapatti Pediatric Eye Evaluation Project
The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of visual impairment on functional vision of children in a rural population of south India.
A systematic random sampling method was used to identify 1,194 children aged seven to 15 years.
Children with monocular visual impairment were likely to have functional visual deficits compared with normally sighted peers.
Children with binocular visual impairment had visual acuity worse than their normally sighted friends.
